founded in 2001 by current Director, Darryl Cooper to cater to the
needs of today's travellers and corporate groups who require efficient
transport services to a wide selection of New Zealand's best natural
& tourist destinations.

The
compass and Explorer logo were designed and drawn by myself in 2001,
it reflects what is important to me. By the age of 19, with my first
car, I had travelled most of New Zealand’s back roads, hunted
many of our mountain regions and National Parks. I definitely had
the travel bug, This led on to extensive overseas travel and work
abroad, from hitchhiking across Europe for 5 months to building
houses in China during the mid 1990’s to working on a Ski
resort in Switzerland, and the adventures continue.
The Explorer compass represents ambitious travel and adventures
to new and interesting places. This interest extends thru to our
customers when we are designing our own tailor made tour packages
for customers, we also actively encourage the use of our coaches
for school camp transport.
The Explorer brand is about going to rarely visited places, trying
new things, eating great locally produced food and sharing New Zealand,s
splendour with like minded people at leisure and in comfort. Our
office staff and drivers selected to work in our team all share
this vision & all have a passion for travel
